Infinite Frames – A Students’ Short Film Show 2025

Event Summary

Infinite Frames: A Student’s Short Film Show 2025 was an outdoor evening festival at Tai Kwun’s Laundry Steps featuring short films (under 10 minutes) made by HKU students and other university collaborators. The event was hosted by the Communication-Intensive Courses and the Common Core at the University of Hong Kong. Bringing together the creative spirits of students from HKU, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, Vienna University of Technology, and İzmir Ekonomi Üniversitesi, the festival was also supported by the Austrian Consulate General in Hong Kong.

The programme showcased a wide mix of genres and styles—narrative, documentary, animation, and GenAI experiments—designed to “measure the temperature” of contemporary culture, from warm human connections to the chill of modern anxieties. Open to the public with free admission, it created a relaxed yet focused space for audiences to enjoy two main screening blocks, connect with student filmmakers, and explore how emerging technologies are shaping the future of visual storytelling.
