University Grants Committee Teaching Award 2023 1st Runner up (Team Award Category)
The CiC was recognised for its excellence in teaching and learning as the 1st Runner-up in the UGC Teaching Award (Team Award Category). Led by Dr. Michelle R. Raquel from the Centre for Applied English Studies, the team members included Mr. Simon D. Boynton (CAES), Dr. Jack Tsao (Common Core Office), and Dr. Miranda Legg (CAES). This accolade underscores the program’s innovative approaches to embedding the four essential literacies – written, oral, visual, and digital – across the curriculum.
HKU Outstanding Teaching Award 2022
The initiative was honored with the prestigious HKU Outstanding Teaching Award. Led by Dr. Michelle R. Raquel, the team also included Mr. Simon D. Boynton (CAES), Dr. Jack Tsao (Common Core Office), and Mr. Donn E.V. Gonda (Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning). This recognition celebrates the program’s transformative impact on student learning and its commitment to fostering holistic development through interdisciplinary collaboration.
